  1. In a cooking pot, melt your butter, onion, turmeric, salt, garlic, ginger, cinnamon, carrots, and black pepper. Stir gently until the onion is brown and tender. Add your tomatoes and stir for 3 minutes
  2. Add water three glasses and lentils and simmer for 20 minutes
  3. Wash and clean your green peas and add them to the cooking pot. Stir for three minutes
  4. Simmer for  another three minutes then serve with rice

Ingredients

  1. 1 kg peeled sweet potatoes (cut into ¼” pieces)
  2. 15oz chickpeas (drained and rinsed)

1 cup frozen peas

1 pound potatoes (peeled and chopped into sizeable pieces)

1 bunch of cilantro (chopped)

4tbs olive oil

1tsp paprika

1 can of diced tomatoes (un-drained)

1/2tsp black pepper

3 tbsp lemon juice

1/2tsp turmeric

5 fresh carrots

1 &1/2 cup vegetable broth

1tbsp ground cumin

1 cup of turnips (peeled)

  1. In a skillet, put your cooking oil and heat it for one minute. Add turmeric, paprika, and cumin. Stir gently for 2 minutes
  2.  Add cilantro, salt, garlic, turnips, carrots, potatoes, and tomatoes. Stir for four minutes then add broth and cook for 25 minutes
  3. Add peas, pepper, and lemon juice. Simmer for about 5 minutes then serve hot with rice
  4. Garnish with cilantro strips
