Reinhard Bonnke, a white preacher, was told not to shake black people’s hands

This was way back, and not in covid-19 era. It was not like these days that ‘hey’ ‘whatdup’ ‘how you doing’ and the likes are just good enough. In those days, recognizing others’ presence included going close to them, looking them in the eyes, and shaking their hands firmly with a smile. These were common courtesy and respect-especially when they are your church members and you are their pastor.

Well, this was exactly what Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke was doing in that mission when the South African mission elder who was appointed to supervise him first gave him a “memo,” followed by a warning on “proper etiquette” of how to relate with the Black brethren either in the congregation on crusade missions.
