King Charles III has been crowned as the 40th monarch at Westminster Abbey in a truly historic ceremony!
It was an incredible sight, with millions around the world tuning in to watch the magical moment. The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rev Justin Welby, placed the St Edward’s Crown on the King’s head, and he was joined by Queen Camilla for the ceremony.
Despite the rain, thousands watched as the new King and Queen arrived in a stunning horse-drawn Diamond Jubilee State Coach.
The coronation was themed ‘Called to Serve’ Colossians 1:9-17 and Luke 4:16-21
The Archbishop’s sermon was truly inspiring. He reminded us that service is love in action and that we should follow in the humble footsteps of Christ, who put aside all privilege to serve others.
The coronation service also featured some exciting new elements, including the active involvement of female clergy and multi-faith leaders. For the first time ever, representatives of the Jewish, Buddhist, Sikh, Muslim, and Hindu faiths delivered a greeting to the King.
And how about the exchange between King Charles and 14-year-old Samuel Strachan? It was just too cute!
Of course, there were many distinguished guests in attendance, including members of the Royal Family. Prince George served as one of King Charles’ Pages of Honor, and the Duke of Sussex was also there.

The King and Queen made their way through the streets of London in the Gold State Coach, waving to the cheering crowds.
