Young men threw buckets of water over the heads of NYPD officers in Harlem and also in Brooklyn this past Monday.
Some New-Yorkers blame Mayor Bill De-Blasio’s ineptitude when it comes to managing the police force. He has taken a stand to condemn the act. Conservative politicians like Rudy Giuliani, blame liberal politicians for their “anti-police rhetoric.” It is unclear whether or not a specific event provoked the occurrence. What is certain is that decades of police brutality and systemic racism has lead to a breakdown of the relationship between inner city neighborhoods and the police department.Â
